Overall my experience at the El Cajon AAMCO shop was great! They fixed my vehicle and provided me with quick service.
I have one word for the people at the shop.... fabulous! I absolutely love this shop and I love the follow up call.
The service was done in time and the vehicle works like a charm! Overall my wife and I are very happy with the shop!

I brought in my minivan with 200K miles and a transmission that was going out. The first visit my transmission was rebuilt and it cost was less than what the dealership quoted me. It drove so good as when I first bought the van which makes me wonder what I was driving the past couple of years as it was going bad.
The second time I brough my van in was it not being able to go over 3K RPMs. Found out a rodent chewed a line during the cold season. It was fixed again and I requested my squeaking brakes done as well. Very happy I have additional life in a van that transports kids and animals to club events. Very impressed with the great service. This place is absolutely the best. I had my Audi TT encounter some trouble on the 8 coming into town. First I had it towed to an Audi dealership where they didn't seem to understand the problem. I kid you not I was quoted 10K to fix it. it ended up at the Aamco for a second opinion. Ended up being about $800. I drove it back to Phoenix recently - ran perfectly! Thanks Todd and gang for doing a fantastic job.

These guys turned what I expected to be a terrible experience into an awesome one. I have a 2003 Corvette....about 5 years ago, I took it to a well know " lube garage" to have the oil changed. Thinking I was doing a good thing for my vehicle, I let the technician talk me into a transmission flush. Unbeknownst to me, they failed to refill the fluids in the transmission and sent me on my way. The following day, my car would not move. My husband had it towed to Todd AT AAMCO. They rebuilt my transmission and I have been their devoted client ever since. The lube shop did eventually pay us back for their incompetence.
I take my car in for oil changes and any other maintenance to AAMCO. I now have 103,000 miles on my little red Corvette and my engine light came on last week....they replaced gaskets and it's back on the road. Last year, my signal lights kept popping out. Chris at AAMCO researched the problem and found that the running lights were on constantly (a design flaw) and the plastic behind them had melted, so every time I got a car wash or it rained, the water would get in and the lights would blow out. Chris fixed them and I have had no problems ever since.
I am a 72 year old lady and I need to rely on the people who service our vehicles. I rely on Todd and Chris at AAMCO. I trust you too, will have the same great experience!
When you hear AAMCO you think transmissions. However, these guys do far more. My AC unit was out. I previously went to another shop and was quoted 1200 for the job. These guys did it for 500. Amazing job. And I'm riding comfortably in an ice box instead of a microwave with this heat. Thanks again!
Aamco is the bomb. My tranny went out and after going to a few transmission repair ships that wanted to overcharge me, Aamco didn't leave me hanging. Hooked me up with a new transmission at a responsible price. All the guys over there are really cool and not shady, I'm definitely going back!
Just wanted to update my review about their business. I still continue to go to this auto repair shop for my routine check ups because these guys let me know if there is anything else going on with my car. This is something I really like about this shop. They are always really concerned about the needs of my car.

I've had work done at this location a couple of times, the most recent being earlier this year, and it's refreshing to know that there are honest mechanics out there. Todd and his team have never steered me wrong. They always let me know what was going on with my car, and what all of my options were. They never beat around the bush or fabricate lies (which I've had happen to me, at other shops). And the great thing is they really care and they take the time to explain to me, whatever issues my car had, which is nice because I don't speak car. Definitely recommended.
Highly recommend AAMCO EL Cajon. These guys are freakin AWESOME! Brought my car in a couple weeks ago for a transmission flush, Chris was on point and had my car done in about 45 minutes. These guys are awesome! After being told by 2 mechanics that it would cost $4000 or more to replace our transmission, Todd and his crew fixed it for nearly half that! Todd is very personable, friendly and a delight to work with. I highly recommend these guys for an honest, fair price and a quality job well done!
I checked out a used car before buying it at everyone was really friendly and nice to me. Fabian checked the car completely, to see eventual leaks or problems. He found out there was a leak of the struts fluid, so after buying the car I took it there. They called me after they found the components telling me the final cost of the work and they asked me if I wanted to proceed or not. In less than 24 hours they changed both of my front struts, doing a great job for a very reasonable price.

In my experience, for every 10 bad car service places, there is maybe one good one. This is one of the good ones. Todd and Fabian are true professionals that care about their customers. They treat you like they would want their own family treated, when dealing with service shops. When dealing with these guys you can rest assured that you are only going to get the repairs necessary and you will be kept informed about the work being done. With so many horror stories you hear about shady places, it is a breath of fresh air to have shops like this around.

Todd is upfront, gets right to the issue. Lets you know about things to keep an eye on rather than telling you it needs to be fixed or replaced right away. Full service shop, not just transmissions. We have all our fleet trucks serviced here.

Todd and the team at the El Cajon AAMCO were great! I have a car that is highly modified and I was looking for the best way to repair/upgrade my transmission and Todd assured me that it could be done. He stayed in contact with me throughout the time my car was there and let me know what the upgrade would cost and what I could expect. I stopped by to retrieve some items from my car and the technician brought me out to the shop and showed my what was taken out and replaced and it was certainly an eye opener. I've gotten to "play" with my car since (it's not only my daily driver but an 1/8 mile street drag car) and I am impressed! I can't thank the guys enough - I will have to invite them to the track to show off my car to them. Thanks AAMCO of El Cajon!
They were super friendly and honored my free oil change from over a year ago! So very nice of them to do that! As a young female college student I was worried about getting scammed or persuaded into unnecessarily fixing things on my car and this was not the case at all!! The staff was professional and explained everything that was being done to my car to me. I have already recommended this automotive shop to several of my friends and they too had the same great experience! Trustworthy and affordable!

Took in my vehicle for a transmission service. It was done in a timely manner. Some other issues were pointed out but the service person did not push for the service to be done. He just gave me the options and I choose the best one. I will continue to take my vehicle back for regular services.

The service man was open and honest about it, gave me a quote but did not try to push me into doing it. I did get the other services and everything was at the quote I was given. I will keep bringing my vehicle to this location.

Was recommended by another mechanic. Transmission was fixed and a sensor replaced, car runs a lot better. It's better to never have a transmission go bad, but if you do, you can rely on these guys to fix it. Thanks Todd and Fabian.

Todd and Fabian let me know what was needed for my 100K check-up and to get the check-engine light taken care of. I never felt like they were trying to make me spend more than what was needed. They are courteous (took me home while they worked on the Buick - ATF change, plugs and wires) and considerate of my situation (visiting from out of town). A month later, it still seems to be working well. Took a couple of tries to get it right, but now seems to be OK.
Fast, courteous service without an appointment. The Manager went and picked up parts to service my transmission, not wanting to make me wait for the delivery truck driver. Paying a little more for great service is worth it.

Todd was really good to work with. I brought a used car from the lot across the street to get looked at to help me decide whether or not I wanted to buy it. They gave me the good, the bad, and the ugly. Very honest, very thorough. I would definitely use them again to service my vehicles. Just wish they were closer to where I live in Point Loma.

AAMCO of El Cajon is the only AAMCO that gets the job done in a very professional manner. they don't give you excuses or try to con you in extra work. AAMCO of el cajon is the only car mechanic shop ill go for corrective and preventative maintenance on my vehicle. i highly recommend this AAMCO due to the manger todd that knows how to cater to the customers needs. thank you AAMCO of el cajon.

They are the only repair shop that I trust with my families vehicles to. And in the many years I have been going there they have only provided terrific customer service. It gives me peace of mind. They are excellent.

Our experience with this company has been excellent. We had some issues at first but it wasn't their fault. They did everything they could to solve the many problems we had with our Benz. but as of today 6/4//13, it is running like a "sewing machine". THEY MADE EVERYTHING RIGHT THAT WAS WRONG WITH IT! We are very pleased with their work!

Fabian, Todd and crew are the best. I have had tons of work done by these guys over the years and never an issue. They are professional, prompt and do their best to give you a good deal. I took my truck in there for what I was told was a differential problem. Big bucks. Fabian diagnosed it correctly however as a slightly off size tire on one wheel. Saved me about $1500. I trust these guys and even though I moved out of town postponed work on my car until I could get back to El Cajon and have them work on it. It is a rarity to find honest, trustworthy people in this business. You can trust these guys. They go out of their way to make things right.
My rear transmission went out on my 2003 Mitsubishi Spyder convertible. Several people told us we would need to replace the transmission. We took the car into Fabian at AAMCO Tranmission and they checked it out and were able to replace parts without replacing the whole transmission! While they had the transmission out they found a cracked clutch plate (pretty important) and so fixed that as well. Their service was timely, communication with us great all along the way and the car drives great now after. I am very pleased and will return. I recommend them to others. Fabian, the owner, is so personable and honest and he has a great crew!
I had to take my Acura MDX into AAMCO because of a torque converter issue I had. I'm new to the El Cajon area, and don't have a mechanic that i'm familiar with. When I had the vehicle towed I asked who they would recommend, and the driver said AAMCO. I'm glad he did. Todd from AAMCO called me when the vehicle arrived at the shop. He asked me questions about what had happened to the car, what had failed, and how long it had been going on. They treated me professionally, were empathetic to my situation, and assured me they could get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. Todd was friendly, invited me down to the shop any time to see my vehicle being worked on. My mechanic Kevin, explained in great length what caused the components inside the vehicle to fail. They answered my questions, and didn't mind me watching as they worked. I note all of these things because this hasn't always been my experience in working with mechanic shops in the past. I'm hoping I don't have another issue with my MDX, but i'm sure I will look to AAMCO for servicing my vehicle in the future.

I had a wonderful experience here. The people in the shop treated me great and explained the process of repairing my transmission with respect, clear, concise information. I believe that went out of their way to make sure I had the most economical process, to make my needed repairs and to insure I was able to safely drive my truck again. The repairs were done in a timely manner and I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Aamco slapped in a new transmission into my 2003 Dodge Ram Truck, unfortunately the refurbished transmission that was received had a defect and I was leaving for VA to attend training for 4 months the next day. I talked to the techs and owners; they offered the help me in any way; they didn’t want to send me out with a defective product. A tech and one of the owners/managers stayed a little while longer after closing to let me load a couple of items to ship with the vehicle and left the next day after renting a van. The techs got another transmission, got it in and make sure it was in working order. The managers helped me find an auto transport company and allowed my truck to be stored at the Aamco for a couple days after the work was completed. The manager stayed in phone communications during this period to see how everything was going. An Auto-Transport came to Aamco in El Cajon and grabbed my truck. Aamco called me to let me know it was being loaded for transport. A would highly recommend, Aamco of El Cajon, has a great group of people working at that facility.
